Kvarner Islands Itinerary: Cres & Lošinj in One Day
The Classic Kvarner Route: Cres & Lošinj
This is the most popular private charter itinerary from Opatija, and for good reason. In a single day, you'll experience two of the Adriatic's most beautiful islands, swim in secluded bays, and enjoy a waterfront lunch in one of Croatia's prettiest harbours.
This route works best as a full-day trip (8–9 hours) departing from Ičići. Here's a detailed breakdown of the day.
The Itinerary
09:00 — Departure from Ičići
Board your boat at the Ičići marina. Your skipper will brief you on the day's plan, adjusting the route based on wind, sea conditions, and your preferences. Head south across the Kvarner channel toward the island of Cres.
09:30 — First Swim Stop: Valun Bay
Anchor in the stunning Valun bay on the western coast of Cres. The water here is impossibly clear — perfect for snorkeling and a morning swim. The bay is sheltered, making it calm even on windier days.
10:30 — Cruise Along the Cres Coastline
Continue south along the dramatic Cres coast. Your skipper will point out sea caves, cliff formations, and the best hidden coves. Keep your eyes open for dolphins — this is one of the few places in the Adriatic where bottlenose dolphins are regularly spotted.
11:30 — Arrival at Mali Lošinj
Pull into the beautiful harbour of Mali Lošinj. This colourful town wraps around a deep bay and offers excellent waterfront restaurants, gelato shops, and a charming old-town atmosphere. You'll have about 2 hours to explore and have lunch.
13:30 — Lunch & Exploration
We recommend Restaurant Barakuda or Konoba Cigale for fresh fish. Walk the harbour promenade, visit the Apoxyomenos museum, or simply sit with a coffee and watch the boats.
14:00 — Departure from Mali Lošinj
Head north toward Cres town, passing through the narrow strait between the two islands.
15:00 — Second Swim Stop: Lubenice
Anchor below the hilltop village of Lubenice on Cres. The beach below is consistently rated as one of the most beautiful in Croatia — accessible only by boat or a steep hiking trail. The water is deep turquoise and the setting is dramatic.
16:00 — Return Journey
Begin the cruise back to Ičići. Depending on the conditions, your skipper may suggest one final stop at a hidden bay on the way home.
17:30–18:00 — Arrival at Ičići
Return to the marina, refreshed and full of memories.
